Let me add that I need to be farther north because I live with my boyfriend who works and goes to school in Round Rock.
you guys should be looking more along i35. If you live around 45th street and i35 you will both be close. It makes no sense based on where you both have to go to live at 620 and 2222

Or, even better, find access to 130.

If you're stuck on 620/2222, see if you can flex your drive time to outside normal "rush" hour.
If you can, the 2222 to 360 to 71 is just about your only option that would make any sense.

I'm not looking for advice on where to live, just on the best way to travel. I've lived in Austin over half my life, so I know where everything is. What I don't know is how bad traffic is on 360 going north during afternoon rush hour. That's the question I'm asking.

I also know how expensive things are around I35. If you can find a one bedroom apartment along there where I can pay less than $900 for over 900 square feet, then I will reconsider.

I've also always wanted to live on 620.

Northbound 360. In a word, ducked - with an F.

As I said earlier, if you can find a way to get something like a 7:30-4 shift or something, it'll get way easier.

Okay, NOW you're just messin' with us.

BTW, unless you have some strange work hours, about half of your morning trip will be into the sun(NO fun along 2222) and the same for the afternoon trip into the late day sun. Pretty trip across the bridge, however.

Considering this, I guess I wonder why you would purposely choose far west when your work is east and boyfriend's work AND school is far north. Posters are questioning this decision because it really makes no sense. There are a plethora of places in your range that are north central or north east.

To address your question which you say you originally asked: I would not wish 360 traffic, NB specifically, on my worst enemy. Heck, it's a parking lot three exits back from 183 at 3:30pm every day.

There are a ton of apartments/duplexes north central and east that meet your listed criteria on padmapper. There is a 2 bd/2 ba w 950 sq ft for $875 as an example. https://www.padmapper.com/show.php?t...92090&src=main

Lousy. The northbound section where you branch off of 290/71 and leading up to Mopac is one of the worst traffic spots I've seen in Austin- it can be congested any time of day, and rush hour is just hellish. You are asking the best route, but what folks are telling you is that there is no "best" way...all of your possible routes will be frustratingly congested and slow.

You should listen to what these people have to say. You will hate your life by doing that. Your boyfriend will hate his life by doing that. You will end up only seeing each other when you are tired and cranky. You will be spending small fortunes on gas. you will have increased maintenance costs on your car. you will have one of the highest carbon footprints on three planet. All of that for the privilege of living out on 620?

Not worth it.
