We are about to start building a home just west of Lexington. What is the water table like out there? What are the costs for drilling a well out there. In addition, what is a septic going to run? The land is very sandy for the first 18" and then turns to a sandy clay after that.

Any info would be appreciated.

They probably have a city website that lists that info. I'm in Hutto, so don't know if the water would be similar. Thrall area being a little North of me, I'm wondering if our water tables are similar.

Our Property isn't in the city. It's about 15 minutes west of Lexington. In the middle of nowhere.

Your best bet is to talk to the folks at the county. They can tell you the typical type of septic installed and how deep wells need to be dug. They are familiar with the soil and can give you some very good advice.

You will have to have an aerobic system. Run about $15,000. they don't have a leach field but rather have 2 sprinklers that run down hill from the 3 tank system.
