Yazdi had too many issues & a weak story for him to claim self defense, much less invoke the "Castle" thing.

Based solely on what I understand the facts to be, I am happy with the verdict. I believe I have a right to defend myself and my family by any means necessary if threatened. I don't think Yazdi convinced anyone (obviously not the jury) that his life was in danger.

Wow, shot him once, then TWO more times when he was down! And it took the jury two days to convict. Nine pages of babble and no one ever knew how the shooting went down?

You have to keep him from telling his side of the story somehow .

That is not new information and there is nothing surprising about that in my opinion. Most self defense classes teach one to double-tap at minimum. If you are going to shoot, make sure they stay down.

I read somewhere that Yazdi is a disabled U.S. Marine, Iranian, but a marine, has a "semper fi" sticker on the back of his car*. He could have obtained his US citizenship thru military service. I have not been able to verify that, but if true his military training probably did him a dis-service as a citizen in this situation. I have suspected before that he relied too much on military training in his actions because he made comments such as:

Quote:
Yazdi later said to police at the scene that he gave Recio “several opportunities to stop and he did not obey my commands,” according to a video played in court...
Which makes me think he was acting as if he was in a military situation. It does not make sense in any kind of self defense scenario that I am familiar with.

'a double-tap' what a genteel way to describe the ending of someone's life. If this scumbag was in the military he would clearly understand the finality of death and should be able to quickly assess a real threat.

I don't understand why anyone would shoot some first that was running away, then go and shoot him twice more on the ground. I don't understand why the training would tell to shoot again. If he was in my house I understand the shooting immediately multiple times but I don't think I would shoot then wait then shoot again.

I do not have a CHL do I am just asking a question.
