Assuming Mueller planned neighborhood eventually finishes up and gets settled.

which highschool would get an uplift?

I would assume Regan High should get the best lift assuming the new neighborhood would bring a some what more affluent group of folks that Regan high would serve?

or would any possible infusion be too little to make a difference?

For political (as well as real estate) reasons, according to AISD the Mueller community is labeled "central Austin", even though it is clearly located in east Austin. All the Mueller high school kids go to McCallum High School in central Austin. It has the fine arts magnet program.

As the entire central east Austin gentrifies, several years ago the school board made a big shift and changed the boarders for Anderson, LBJ, and Reagan High Schools and McCallum got a HUGE chunk of central east Austin from N of E 11th St to the South, Airport Blvd to west, all the way up to E. 51st St. That's when alot of the old time eastsiders knew something was up!

Why send these kids all the way to McCallum, when all of these other schools with even lower school populations were closer? But for the newer white families, the only other high school they would send their kids with substantial white population was Austin High (which is closer for most), but due to student population count, McCallum's student population was deemed at a "lower-level" and could take the 'influx'. If you have a kid who lives off E. 12th or Manor Rd, going to McCallum is a long bus ride, but they all have to do it!

As gentrification caught on, the reasons for sending the near-eastside kids to to McCallum and Austin became obvious as a way to attract white parents to keeping their kids with AISD. Reflecting the changing demograpics of central Austin, both Austin and McCallum high schools have gotten whiter, with the wider attendance zones into central east Austin now being touted to "preserve diversity". Also zoned to include Mueller, near-eastside Kealing Middle School (off Rosewood & Chicon) is now over 50% white, and Maplewood which servers Mueller, Delwood, French Place, Blackland neighborhoods also has a rising white population.

Not true. Mueller is served by both Reagan and McCallum.

Frequently Asked Questions | Mueller Austin
The Castellus marketing website (a private developer) for the Mueller development states that both McCallum and Reagan High Schools serve the neighborhood. If go to the AISD school tracker, select a high school grade and type in a street in the Mueller neighborhood [in zip code: 78723], the result designates McCallum as the tracking school.

No one from Mueller is set by AISD to go to Reagan High School. It has the worst scores in the entire 5-county Austin metro region.

This is simply not true. About half the development will track to Reagan. It's only about 25% developed now and those are on the south and west side that track to McCallum. As it gets developed on north and east those parts track to Reagan. The current section 6 being built right now tracks to Reagan.

Komeht, k'mon! Does the AISD school tracker currently assign any residential street to Reagan High School? You can look it up yourself [which I kinda think you already did] (I provided the link). The answer will be..drum roll please..No. The AISD web database would know better than Castellus marketing materials. Reagan High School, which is the worst high school in AISD as well as the 5-county Austin metro region, would never be a selling point for parents buying homes $250k to $1 million dollars.

The section being built right now will and does track to Reagan. Those streets are so new they don't appear on the AISD website.

In any case - you're simply wrong. And it appears you are trying to make a political point by being wrong.

No, the AISD web database is not trying to make a political point. You can't just say something is right because you believe it's right. If you are correct, AISD will back you up. And you have no back up. And with you're last post, you are veering into topics which has nothing to do with the OP's question. Please, let's get back on topic!

Back on topic:

Mueller will be serviced by both Reagan and McCallum. Ignore IOF who has an axe to grind and is trying to make a speech.

I already produced where information came from. In fact, you told us first: the Castellus marketing portal for Mueller Development. When did Castellus' marketing website, trump AISD's school tracker?

Side note: If you want to continue this convo, can it be on another thread? Please..
