Been thinking about how to raise more revenue for our school kids. Also been thinking about how to preserve East Austin for the families that call it home.

So what I've decided, is to create a new local option sales tax for Austin only. A doubling of the sales tax, but only certain items. Those items would include:
Scooters, fixed gear bikes, Holga cameras, vinyl records, flannel shirts, mustache wax, shutter shades, colored Wayfarers, Three Wolf Moon t-shirts, any purchases at American Apparel, Cenote, or Urban Outfiters, skinny jeans, all piercing hardware, courier bags, mocha lattes, PBR beer, analog cameras, and home brewing gear.
This would produce two good effects: more money for AISD, and get all these folks East Austin to move back to Williamsburg,or wherever they came from.

What could go wrong?
