Hi, I will be finishing up my teaching degree in Austin in Special Education and was wondering if anyone could help me in letting me know what starting salaries in the Austin area, Leander, Cedar Park, Round Rock, etc are making.
I appreciate it.

All pay scales should be on each district's website.

Default Do you know the website address?

Looking for updated information as well. In NJ they all have information on 2005 salaries and nothing current. For being Public information they sure make it hard to find.

Bring up a browser and type Google
Now in the google window type Austin ISD teacher salary.

First hit brought me to the page. Type that same info with other school districts.

And the salaries were for this current school year 2007-2008.

I think they're all paying about the same...they want to stay competitive!

In NJ, a starting teacher can be offered say $45000 to start and within 5 years they reach the maximum of about $60 -$70k with just a bachelors. Do you know if Texas has the same pay scale annual increases? And in NJ, you can be offered anywhere from $10k - $20k more when you receive your Masters. Is this the same as well?

Wow, that's great! Teachers here aren't that lucky:

Leander Independent School District (http://www.leanderisd.org/default.aspx?name=employ.teach.scale - broken link)

But I imagine salaries in general are lower, too.
