Visiting Austin for the first time.... got a GREAT room at the Embassy Suites overlooking Congress St. Bridge.... perfect bat viewing.... only to learn the bats "have left" for Mexico 3 days ago..... who knew they were migratory.

hahaha . bad timing, huh.....well, you still have lots of music on 6th street to listen to...
that hasn't migrated just yet, far as I know.............

yes, they are Austin should do a better job telling people that there is a viewing window for them before they fly south.

Although last night there were lot's and lot's of people on the bridge "waiting".....either they knew something i didn't or they didn't know what I knew........

My SIL was visiting this weekend and my husband took her to see them on Sat night. They were still there but came out past dark. They got some great pics and videos though.

I was out there a week ago, rented a boat and was right under the bridge. There were millions of them! They didn't come out until 7:20 though.
