You would be lucky to find a decent 1 BR in Austin for $600 today. Going rate is more like $700 for plain, ordinary vanilla.

Blame it on the boom. Apartment vacancies are around 2 - 3% today, and rental rates have soared over 35% in the last year in some areas.

Frankly, a lot of people are moving OUT to places like Manor to try to find more affordable housing.

Thanks. Yes, i understand. Being in the city has a few benefits which is why the move is important.
The rent being so low wouldn't be forever though, hopefully not even a year.
