What next after this stupid idea, fill the river with dirt because our southern brethren are so melancholy and isolated from their northern? If economics aren't running this debate (they aren't), then it has no business even being considered.

With the flooding we had today, that tunnel would be full of water. //www.city-data.com/forum/austi...l#post32036587

Swap I-35 and SH130 and the tolls will pay for this project easily. The problem is that there are people in this town that don't want to see I-35 fixed because they know it means gentrification.

IMO this concept shouldn't even be discussed until they toll I-35 through town. How do we address 130,000 cars a day sitting in gridlock in a tunnel!?? It's a disaster waiting to happen. Car fire? Carbon moxoide poisoning?

They will NEVER be able to reduce the amount of traffic on this road until they toll it.

Why don't people get that?!? How else do we plan on deterring peopel from clogging up this highway? Ask them politely to stop using it?!

It is what was in the caption on the twitter feed. Please address your concern to the Chronicle.
