Hi

I am moving to Austin on 05/28 and I am searching for shared accommodation or 1 BHK apartment. Can anyone let me know some Indian residential area near S.Mopac Express way 78749. I would be better if you guys suggest some Indian community apartment names. Thanks for your help...

Regards
Arun

I don't know if there are any Indian community apartment homes per se, but there are neighborhoods where larger concentration of Indian origin people live (NW Austin?).

Exact location of what? I don't believe there are any "Indian community apartment homes" in Austin.

Austin doesn't really have ethnic enclaves/neighborhoods like bigger cities. Well, besides some Hispanic areas anyway.

Hopefully, and I believe this is true, Austin is trying to move in the opposite direction of segregating ourselves based on ethnicity.

I'm guessing that the Op is coming here from the Bay area. I lived in a large apartment complex a few blocks away from Cisco in Santa Clara (Mansion Grove) that had about 300 apartments and about 90% of those had Indian tenants. I've never seen anything like that here in the Austin area.

Here is a list of various demographic maps: http://www.austintexas.gov/page/demographic-maps

Here is an Asian population distribution map: http://www.ci.austin.tx.us/demograph..._abs_metro.pdf

That map shows the apartments up at the north end of 78749 appear to have a high concentration of Asian occupants, not sure how many of them are Indian. I see a fair number of Asian Indian people walking in the area but am not aware of any specific concentrations.

Apartments in that area are:

I second CptnRn. There are a fair number of Indians in these three apartment complexes. Austin is nothing like the Bay Area for specific ethnic enclaves which is a good thing.
