What would you say the difference is in commute times comparing coming from the south up to the city versus coming from the north?

google maps will show you areas and then you can zoom in to the street view to get an idea of what the streets look like. I also prefer trulia to search for houses since they have a great map based search. You need to corroborate with the austinhomesearch.com because it is the most up to date source (sometimes trulia isnt accurate).

SW Austin will probably be 15-20 minutes shorter than Cedar Park, each way.
