We currently attend a Nazarene church with around 1,000 members in the Denver area, but will need a new church around Cedar Park/Round Rock/Pflugerville (in other words, up north) in August. Denomination isn't necessarily important, though we'd probably prefer to stay in the Protestant realm. I was raised Nazarene, my husband was raised Methodist, and we attended a Baptist church before moving west.

We're moderately conservative with right leaning tendencies politically and socially. We prefer a more traditional or mix of traditional and contemporary worship, and would like to stay in the under 1k member range. A drive time of a half hour wouldn't be an issue for a place with a good fit, especially one with excellent programs for kids.

Before I get the standard "this has been discussed extensively elsewhere" post, the most recent one I could find was over a year ago and that poster was looking for something totally different. That being said, if you know of one that discusses this and I missed it, please give me the link!

You won't have a problem at all finding a church around Cedar Park/Round Rock. I would suggest waiting until you get here, see what recommendations people you're around the most have, and then trying them out until you find one that fits. Some of the names that come to mind that I've either visited or attended regularly are Gateway Church, Rockbridge Church, Grace 360, and Hill Country Bible Church. I would describe them as more non-denominational, all-welcoming, and contemporary (compared to my Southern Baptist upbringing, especially!) and they all have great music!! That might, at least, give you a place to start!

If you're looking for another Nazarene church and don't mind the drive, I have a friend that attends Austin Grace and really likes it. I don't personally know much about it though.

I'd recommend you check out Hill Country Bible Church Northwest in Cedar Park. I used to attend until I moved away from the area. It's a mix of traditional and contemporary worship, fairly conservative, and has fantastic programs for kids. If the size of the church scares you but you like their values, mission, etc, look into their associated churches Hill Country Round Rock or Hill Country Pflugerville that are smaller.
