But I'll play along, how long is your commute and how do you commute.
My commute is like 5 mins and I walk to work and school. Perks of living in west campus!

Well, yes, because you're a UT student. That's a very different thing from living out in the "real world", raising a family if you should choose to, having a career (assuming you don't make your career in academia - is that your plan?).

Philopower -

Don't listen to these people, they have no clue. You don't have to buy into the nonsense about having to have a yard and huge garage. Live central, enjoy magnificent parks you don't maintain, walk or bike to work, stay fit, young and healthy, remain interested in the world and be interesting as well. less space, more time, better life.

The real world is what you make it. Most of these people sold out their dreams for cheap land on suburban tracts and a car ride for every little errand. Don't fall into the same bitter trap.

Totally agreed, I will never be caught dead in the burbs. I love being able to walk everywhere and not having to pollute or waste gas for small errands. Life in west campus is great and once I have a career I will make it my goal to live as close to possible to work.
