Hi everyone! My name is Wendi and I will be relocating from NC to the Austin area on August 1st with my family. I would like to hear from anyone about living in the area. I have heard great things about this area and I am looking forward to the live music and food!

Since the OP was looking forward to good food and live music, I'm betting you don't live here.

You bet wrong. I would think my username would give you a little hint about me. Must not have lived in Austin for very long yourself.

Probably since you were pooping in your pants.

And if you think that there is good food and great live music on Sixth Street, then you haven't sobered up since you graduated seven whole years ago. Roppolo's and the cover bands at Maggie Mae's don't meet most people's definitions of either of those items.

LOL. Where did I say 6th street was great for live music and food? I guess my original post didn't lay the sarcasm on thick enough.

Yes, 6th street is completely deprived of any good music whatsoever.
Might as well stick to KISS and BOB FM, OP.

Tongue and cheek aside, streaming KVRX and KOOP radio can be a good way to get acquainted with the local music scene from afar.

You know scm53, normally I respect your posts, but I have to wonder about this one.

Do you seriously contend that there is no good food or live music to be enjoyed on 6th Street? That is very hard for me to believe.
