It's pretty green in Austin this year, I mean it's August and everything is a bit green, if wilting.

Yep, there's many a night that I take the convertible out around midnight and it's still above 90...well above on some nights.
Yes, the mornings are nice. And, at least it hasn't been as unrelenting as summers past. We've been fortunate this year.

Currently live in Houston. The humidity is terrible. White linen night in the heights was DREADFUL until I was sucking down my fourth drink

I'm sorry you had to live in Channelview/Pasadena. But that's not Houston.

When you've been here long enough... yes.

This is the heat index in the evening. Look at the heat index at 5PM tomorrow, it will show this better.

I will pick scenario #1 of #2 any day.
Siri gets it messed up sometimes so I like to play with NOAA's heat index calculator. You can use either the dew point or relative humidity to get the HI.

1. HI - 97 (Austin)

2. HI - 102 (Houston)

I'm not sure what you mean, but I've been here since 1968.
I'm guessing that's long enough for whatever.

BTW - anyone who thinks Houston's weather isn't more miserable because "it's only five or ten percent worse" can't appreciate the difference between 95 and 100 or 105.

This is like splitting hairs. The summer weather in both cities stinks.
