Time has come to purchase a shed. We don't have any HOA restrictions, so it doesn't need to be custom. Are there any options in town besides the big box stores? They have my price range ($2000-$2500) but less than thrilled with the selections. Can anyone recommend another option for that price? Size would be 10 x 10 or 10 x 12. TIA.

what style are you looking for?

for example if you want a modern style shed:
Modern Shed Design Ideas, Pictures, Remodel, and Decor

googling for modern shed will pull up ads on the side and lots of vendors in the organic search.

Here is an article about modern sheds

Sheds and More | Sheds Made Easy

These guys did an AWESOME job on a custom made shed for us. I was able to get them to position the door and the window so I have a great workbench space.

Austin97 - thanks. I did a lot of googling already and was pretty overwhelmed. Was looking for some first hand recommendations.

gpurcell - thanks - I had looked at Sheds and More and liked their designs and the fact that they are local. Will give them a call.

ah ok, thought you mentioned you didnt want custom

I noticed a lot of the sheds are along the fence line. When you call them can you ask about that? Im also researching sheds and from what I can tell sheds are supposed to be out of the building easement.

We did a tuff shed some years ago, and it has been essentially perfect. The contractor that came out and installed it did a good job of leveling it and the actual construction is rock-solid. It is much smaller than what you are looking for, though, and not sure what one that size would cost.

Are those the resin ones? We got a brochure from Home Depot and that was one of our options depending on the installation cost. Good to know they've held up well.

I said I didn't need custom because we don't have an HOA, but if they are affordable, it would be a bonus. Wouldn't the location of the shed be up to your local regulations? In our neighborhood they are scattered between up against the house to up against the fence and anything in between. But we are also in unincorporated Wilco, so I don't know if that makes a difference. In any case, I'll ask when we get our quote.

No, it is essentially a 2x4 frame building with a plywood floor and roof (covered by shingles) and wood siding (with 1x4 trim). They have options to add shelves, vents, windows, etc, but honestly, all but the windows are easy to do yourself for less. The parts were partially assembled prior to delivers, but the contractor assembled it on site and put the singles on, etc. It could be just good luck, but he was more than competent and it would take a tornado to even wiggle the walls on that thing. The plywood floor is set on an aluminum frame that is sitting on pavers, so the actual floor is about 6 inches off the ground. I guess it has been there 6 or 7 years now.

We did order ours via HD when we bought it, and we did get the 'HOA special' (it is 6'6" at the peak), although our HOA doesn't actually limit the height to 6'.
