I thought they meant it would take them 2 hours to get to the water in the lake! Silly me. Any lakeside cabin around here is about 1/4 mile from the water.. Good luck!!

Sadly, even when the lakes are up there are not very many areas with "cabins" next to the lakes, that I am aware of. I know if some rustic cabins on a ranch outside of Wimberley that is fun for family visits. The cabins are on a ridge just above Cypress Creek, which has always had enough water in it when we visited for several nice swimming holes.

Thinking that there might be some up on Lake LBJ, which is a constant level lake, I did a web search and found these.

Wow, thanks for all of the suggestions. I'll have to comb through them. And I am most interested in lakes; I don't like beaches and sand.

Dudes I said almost I did not say all the way..all I was trying to point out was the beach was fairly close and for another hour she might was to think about that option since she has folks from Canada that might enjoy warm water.
