Last 24 hours have been very nice for the Buchanan watershed - 1-3" already for most of it, and some areas (including right on top of the lake) with 4" +.

For bored people that want to check out rainfall totals, this site is excellent (Colorado watersheds only):

Hydromet

Select the 'data to display' to rainfall (from the last 1/2 hour up to the total for the last two weeks, with lots in between

Gah, not encouraging:

Quote:
Despite numerous overnight rain totals from 1-3 inches in the Hill Country, streamflow remains low, little runoff has occurred, and lake levels are generally unchanged as of 8:00 am this morning. These conditions could change today if more rainfall occurs.

Above Lake Buchanan this morning the Colorado River near San Saba is flowing at 15 cfs. Above Lake LBJ the Llano River at Llano is up to 106 cfs while Sandy Creek near Kingsland is flowing at 2 cfs. Above Lake Travis, the Pedernales River near Johnson City is still flowing less than 1 cfs.

Sorry Rick....but we sure do need this rain! Hopefully the impact on the lakes will be better than original statement this morning. It may not add a lot, but at least it will keep it from drying up even more for a short period anyway.

For those of you that are new to Central Texas, please heed the flash flood warnings at low water crossings. I know it seems like a small amount of rain shouldn't do much damage, but every year, people drown trying to drive into them. Turn Around, Don't Drown.

Yeah, I'm sure the deck will dry soon enough! We have gotten some SERIOUS rain this afternoon; but according to the radar, we're just barely on the southern tip of the precip. I would think some of the folks are over 3" by now.
