I thought I heard that the S Lamar Wendy's was going to become an In and Out.

Are Wendy's restaurants being remodeled and everyone is hoping for In and Out?

Wendy's just remodeled on Brodie. I hope the S. Congress is a remodel too. Service is quick; food is affordable; menu exceeds burgers. The best of all worlds would be to have both Wendy's and In-and-Out.

the Wendy's on S. Lamar, just north of Ben White is becoming an In and Out, but I was pretty sure that the Wendy's on S. Congress, just south of Ben White was just a remodel -- same as the one on Riverside, gut remodel but no change in franchise.

OP what is your source? Are you sure you are not mixing up the S. Lamar Wendy's and the S. Congress Wendy's?

You are incorrect.

We have two In-N-Outs coming to Austin. The Wendy's at Ben White/Congress and Montopolis/Ben White are both expanding. The restaurant you are speaking of is only expanding.

But the question is about In-N-Outs.

The North Austin location is 4648 N IH @ Airport Blvd. It has a building permit and is calling for inspections. The building requires an automatic sprinkler system and the plans are on my desk. Assuming the plans are compliant, I suspect they will be open before the Christmas holidays.

Attached is my original posting.

The newest In-N-Out is at 3713 S. Lamar at Wendy's at S. Lamar & Panther. Currently it's in site plan review because they are changing the site foot print and installing a larger grease interceptor as well an automatic sprinkler system. I don't see this opening until next summer.
