I hope all the toll roads go bankrupt and we default on the bonds so no one will build one here again. Hey novel idea use the tag fees we pay to build roads and keep the unamerican Texas republican Politicians out of it. This means Perry's association with the Spanish taking money outof the state.

I never asked for them, never voted for them, was never asked so screw all toll way authorities.

Everyone stay off of them for a week love the screams of dispair from the highway thieves.

What I mean is that they're unlikely to force the company to declare bankruptcy or otherwise default on the debt, due to the termination clause.

7.1.2.7 allows a letter of credit only in the case of bankruptcy by a guarantor or a member of the developer. The beginning of the section says there is "no cure period" and then there's a list of exceptions, which include bankruptcy by someone other than the developer. There's no provision for a letter of credit or any other cure or cure period in the case of bankruptcy or other loan default by the developer itself.

In other words, shut the doors to the capitol of Texas to the riff-raff who can't afford to pay tolls in order to get in. Just lovely.

NO Texas (heck, no American) city should have a toll road as its main entrance, never mind our Capitol.

You can still get in. US-183, SH-71, FM969, Mopac, 290. All connect to SH130, and provide free access to downtown. The people who pass through from SA to Dallas would appreciate an unobstructed path (like a FREE SH-130) without having to deal with the Austin Riff-Raff.

Drug Cartel members and wanted criminals having their license plates photographed by tollway cameras when entering the city of Austin.

Well, the 130 tollway is still convenient to those who use it - just like the Capital Metro Rail.

All routes that are inconvenient for anyone coming from the north and not wanting to go to the east side of town (except possibly 183). And to get to Mopac conveniently from the north, without going through the maze they've created out of the original already-paid-for roadway there to make it as inconvenient as possible for anyone NOT using the tollway (did they really think we were so stupid we wouldn't notice?), you must use the 45/Mopac section of toll road.

I actually like, and use, SH130. Doesn't mean I can't see the inconvenience that turning I35 into a toll road could cause for a LOT of people who can't afford the tolls on a daily basis.

They are all more convenient than the gridlocked highway that runs right through the middle of Austin. This gridlocked highway gets worse every year, and their's no solution. What's yours?

So would I, if it ran through Austin.

They would have to move out east to SH-130.

The biggest impact would be the gentrification of the central Austin corridor that this would create, which many are opposed to for their own selfish reasons.

Well, Austin has already driven a large number of the "little people" out of the central area with the high taxes, expensive housing, and lack of easy access.

What makes you think the City Council cares about them?

And this is yet another statement that exposes your attitude for what it is.
