There is a zero tolerance policy to drugs, fights, gangs and alcohol. Due to many of the rumors flying around, an automated message was sent out to all parents with a teenager there. The campus has police on a regular basis for security, not unlike many other schools (The lady I talked to said they have 2 on campus). The day of the fight, it only took the 2 to break it up. There was no mob scene, just a group of teens standing around watching (when does this never happen) and no other outside intervention was required. Noone was sent to the hospital with their teeth knocked out and face smashed in. Noone went to the hospital at all. To put the parents at ease and to send a message to the students about no fighting, extra hall monitors and security will be on campus this week. The lady I talked with said the media story was exaggerated and the rumors even more so. There weren't even as many people involved as is being said. She mentioned 3.

Yes, thanks for going the extra mile.

I saw a small item about it in the Statesman today. It said that only ONE student had been arrested. Very different than the initial piece that the TV station put up.

What? No way that could ever happen...

Good work, love roses. Love it when this forum is more accurate than the local news or papers. It's not uncommon.
