Hi. I post on a travel forum and we get asked this question from incoming tourists almost every week.

Where can visiting adults take teens to see some live music when they are staying in hotels downtown?

All I have come up with currently is Armadillo Christmas Bazaar.

On Sundays I know about Stubbs and Threadgills do a Gospel Brunch.

Do any of the "food truck parks" have live entertainment, like on weekends? Some of those park clusters are close to downtown. I think I heard Mueller might????

All advice is greatly appreciated.

The phrase you need to become familiar with is "all ages"

Many shows in many venues are "all ages" shows in which case teens are welcome. You will have to google regularly because while nearly every venue in Austin will have "all ages" shows, there is no guarantee that any venue will have ALL their shows be open to all ages. Exceptions will be places like Central Market, Ruta Maya, Whip-In, and other coffeeshops, and restaurants.

Places like the Mohawk and Scoot Inn have all ages shows pretty regularly.

Willie Graham (a teen) has a series at Maria's Taco House on Saturday's---I think it's a great for teenagers to see people their own age making music. He seems to have other shows around town most weeks, too. The advice to search all ages shows is a good one, too. The stuff at Central Market and the Whip-In (and other restaurants) is good, because there is always food available and seats.
