Gator's that used to be on the corner of 2222 and 360 before they built Sienna and the shopping center use to go there with my parents all the time for their Catfish baskets. Also miss the Tumbleweed Steakhouse on 2222 used to be at the top of Tumbleweed Hill.

Aljon's in the late 90s before it changed owners and died a slow, horrible death. The original owners made some seriously good calzones that were much more than just pizzas folded over.

I have to say I miss the Texicalli Grille.

The food was good yet not amazing (with the exception of the queso fries) but the real charm was the concentration of Austin memorabilia on every surface of the interior. It was just the best place to sit around and run through Austin's past.

Danny Young, RIP.

Knew his BIL, Jay Finney real well. I bet he and Danny were a blast together.

Too bad the displaced Chicagoian in the other thread never got to try Danny's Cal's Queso Fries - he'd be sperlt for anything else.

Scampi's Organ Grinder at Lamar and Koenig. Massive pipe organ, monsters behind glass, bubbles and lights. It felt magical. I wish I could take my daughter there today.
