Recent transplant, loving Austin after only a few months here. I've gotten together with a the guys to watch a couple of UFC fights at Third Base, but wondering if there are other options - looking for something distinctly Austin, instead of a regular sports bar/billiards place. Any recommendations?

Distinctly Austin? Hmmm well all the strip clubs seem to show UFC so there's that.. Dude I'd just rather not pay. I go to Hooters or Dave and Busters.. The food at Dave and Busters is horrible but they have a theater you can watch in and get drinks to hit the minimum purchase.

I second the Dave and Busters suggestion. It is only table seating so as long as you get there at a decent time you will have a place to sit with a server. No standing room only, waiting forever for a beer while standing balls to buttcheeks with every wannabe UFC tough guy in Austin scenario at all. The few places on Sixth St that show fights are like this. Oh and its free to get in at Dave Busters - just gotta eat/drink minimum.

The Tavern, Posse East and Doc's Motorworks are all distinctively Austin. No idea if they show UFC, but you could give them a call.
