Hello,

i've been posting quite a few lately, i'm sorry...

I narrowed down my apartment search into 2,

AMLI eastside AMLI Eastside - Austin Apartments - Luxury Austin Apartments
and
timbercreek Timbercreek Apartments | Apartments in Austin, TX

AMLI is 100$ more expensive for the same sqft (i'm looking at ~650 sqft), and maybe 5 min farther (by bicycle which I plan to use to commute) to work.
However, it has in-house washer/dryers, and the appliances and the interior seems to be of better quality.
It also has more amenities, but I never use community amenities in my previous experience, so it doesn't really count.

I haven't visited yet, but plan to do so in a week. Just wanted to get some opinions.
what would you guys choose in my shoe?

I'm a single 30y/o male, have a job and probably not going to buy a car right away.

Thanks in advance,

AMLI is worth the extra money. Aside from the laundry issue, that complex is new construction. Timbercreek is a dated 1970s complex that they've slapped some new countertops, floors and cabinets into. They simply don't compare in my book.

We lived at AMLI south shore for a year, that place was really nice overall. Don't know anything about Timber Creek, it never even made our list.

Timber creek has an exceptional sweet location, especially for a bike commuter.

Go to AMLI, but move to Corazon as soon as it's done.

Where are you bike commuting to?

I would personally choose the AMLI eastside for better quality construction and very easy access to downtown (by bike)

Hello, I'll be working at 200 W. Cesar Chavez

Another option that i'm considering is "Greystar Red River Flats"
Apartments in Austin TX | Apartments to Rent in Austin

it's slightly closer than AMLI Eastside. Not sure how the amenities / interiors compare with each other, but I've scheduled a tour to see both AMLI Eastside and Red River Flats.

Red River Flats seem to have really good reviews on apartmentratings.com

I'm looking forward to my visit to Austin this weekend

Thanks again for the feedback everyone!

The Red River Flats is a nice complex but it has two downsides. There is its proximity to the Austin Resource Center for the Homeless so there are sketchy people who mill about the area at all hours. It is also near several live music clubs, so it can get noisy over there at night. I'd suggest you take a walk around the neighborhood and also come by in the later evening on the weekend to gauge the noise level.
