The point was to move to another major city like Houston or Dallas but a smaller city with nice natural landscape. Austin and SA will do just fine. My wife already has a job she can transfer to and make 40+ k a year, but I have to start fresh.

I have to look for a job that can at least pay 15 an hour.

I know austin is filling up and getting pricey but I've found some stuff on craigslist that seems reasonable. I'm not looking to be smack dab next to congress but just out far enough to hit a freeway into town.

There should be a good number of jobs in the field you are studying.

Chance me. I already have a BA in government/economics from a top school. I went back to school to study something more practical; arch tech so I should have an associates in architecture technology: skills in auto cad, drawing, rendering, revitt, etc. Afterward I would like to pursue further studies after a couple years work. I'm hoping to go into urban planning.

Really I wouldn't mind an entry level technician job starting at 15 hr. That can hold my wife and I down for a while. If this is possible, with her making 40+ and me in the least making 25k, do we stand a chance at living a decent life in the ATX? Nothing fancy of course.

Default nope

Are you serious or are you kidding us?

No, 1000 a month in the inner parts. 800-850 for a efficiency maybe? I dunno hardly any low income housing left here. You'd have to compete with poor people to get in some.

Too many rich boring people are flocking here and living in condos so there is that. Artists and musicians can hardly afford to live here unless they have a regular good paying job.

Traffic is getting bad.

Another person said there are no high end fashion places here. That is cause the rich only been moving ehre for 3 years in flocks.

Go on Yelp and read the posts under Talk and you will see that among the younguns there are some def small folks. Maybe it is just Yelp tho-it might attract the lowest in intelligence or sumpthin'.
