What would be the monthly expense of living in Steiner Ranch ? I am talking about property taxes, HOA fees, and maintaining a 3000 sqrt house ? I am planning on buying a home and would like to see what needs to be budgeted for living there ? It will help the new buyers to accurately estimate what would be their cost of living in Steiner Ranch ?

thanks in advance for the inputs !!

There are numerous threads about Steiner Ranch - I'd try the search button. Here's a good one to start with:

//www.city-data.com/forum/austi...oser-look.html

It's a very big place with houses all over the spectrum. If your get in around $350k then your annual taxes will probably be around $8000; $600-$700k and you're looking at $14,000-$16,000 depending on where the country appraisal comes in (as they don't know what you actually paid unless you tell them).

HOA fees are mentioned in the above thread as $700-$1,600 a year depending on the part of Steiner you get into.

Utilities on a 3000 sq ft house (trash, water, electric, and gas) are probably in the $250-$350/mo range depending on your utility company, usage, and age of the house.

The HOA is $760 except for the Golf Course, Lakeview, and Gehan homes which are substantially higher. Water will run from $50 to $100 a month depending on how much you run the sprinklers. Utilities will depend upon how much you run the A/C in the summer, what temp do you like? Gas will vary from $20 summer to $150 winter, also depending on how much you run the heater.

agree with the numbers shown by cBach above, right on spot for me as well (3300 sqf).
I was negatively surprised by electricity bill here. With the last increases it goes up to $400 in the summer (78F) and as low as $80 in the winter (70F), including a pool (but I feel the A/C is the killer here).

forget about the utilities, HOA, etc. those are nothing compared to the hidden cost of keeping up with the Joneses in SR, lol.

You couldn't pay me to live in Steiner Ranch for all the reasons above. It's beautiful, but is it worth all that? Yeah... And sprinklers ... Ridiculous.

If you don't have sprinklers the grass will be brown and most of your vegetation will die during the summer.

And? Haven't you heard we're in a drought? Sounds like you and your neighbors are wasting my drinking water...
