Oh well, at least there's an option if I work after hours and need to get out of downtown. It moves, but there are still a lot of stops. I thought it would be more of an express bus with very limited stops.

It would be hilarious if Austin was able to get a subway system before Dallas or Houston.
Seriously though, subways are the most expensive form of transit to build and require a lot of politics to get them built. Even in Philly, the master plan back in the 1920's was for the city to have 6-7 subway lines but we only ended up getting only 4 subway lines total. There have been attempts over the past couple of decades to build a subway like in Northeast Philly but the NIMBY's living there successfully stopped it from happening. I could only imagine the level of Nimbyism that exist in the city of Austin. I wish Austin all the luck in trying to build a subway system.

I think the $52 billion dollar price tag I've seen is a bigger obstacle. There is no funding source for that kind of capital outlay, so the entire discussion is moot.

Oh well, at least there's an option if I work after hours and need to get out of downtown. It moves, but there are still a lot of stops. I thought it would be more of an express bus with very limited stops.
