The Domain has fireworks on the weekend through Christmas.
HEB will wrap your tree, but you have to put it on the car yourself.
Austin Children's Museum has Gingerbread House workshops, tons of fun!
The Jinglebell Run is fun, that's on Saturday night.
It's a road trip, but the River lights in San Antonio are beautiful and you can get some pretty tasty Mexican food, too!

I took my lad to buy a tree from HD this evening. As previously mentioned they trim the tree and tie it to your car roof for you. Cool huh? Try telling that to the customer whose tree had been tied on about 20 minutes previously only to see it fall off & get mashed on 290! Poor HD guy (he'd probably been doing it all day) who had tied it on was devastated. I took a little while to check the string on mine.....

Austin isn't a big Christmas town as these things go but I always like to get a Capitol Christmas ornament.

Austin may not be, but the outlying towns are.

The trail of lights last night was fun and different for us. We didn't have stuff like that back where we were from. I get a monthly newsletter of Hill Country events and there are a ton of things for Christmas, mostly outside of Austin.

Tonight, there is free admission to the Wildflower Center with a donation of two canned goods (not sure if it's 2 per person, or 2 per party). They're having Christmas events called "Illuminations" and we hope to go.

Default Xmas light photos, enjoy!

Here's a few pics from around 37th. Instead of trying to take big panoramas of the lights as a whole, I just concentrated on stuff I thought was clever or made me laugh. Some stuff isn't even Christmas related!

The Sock-Monkey Nativity wins IMHO(although the drunken Santa is right there - the can of Red Bull was a nice touch)
