As far as resales go in Pflugerville, there are so many new subdivisions going up here with brand new homes that resales may be hurting. Just around me there are 5 new subdivisions with 2 more in the works.

That's it exactly. It's hard for a resale to compete with new homes.

Well, I hope the market stays that way until next summer/fall. I don't mind taking advantage of someone else's upgrades. Besides, that means someone else went through the debugging stage. My builder up here was pretty good about fixing things after I moved in, but I'd rather not go through that hassel.

Megan1967..there are some pretty nice subdivisions in Pflugerville. The older ones have nice big lots (both front and back yards) and mature trees. The particular one I rented in was built in late 1980's. Folks there actually take walks after dinner around the neighborhood and wander over to the city park to walk there.

If I were to buy in town I would definitely go for a resale in one of the older neighborhoods.

Aw... You can just call me Megan. I always tack on the 1967 because there was almost no one named Megan that year (my birth year). The eighties were a big time for the name Megan, but prior to that we were few and far between. I have the added bonus of pronouncing it Mee-gan, not Meg-han. Makes me kind of a freak, but it was what I was born with and I actually prefer my pronunciation.

Ooooh I'm so glad someone else thinks like this. We almost once bought a home that had gold melamine counters with a kidney bean and squiggle pattern, c. 1950s. It was too cute. Someone else bought it first

I had a friend that bought in Allandale some years ago (my god, it has been 12 years, I need to go look up his appraisal nowadays...) and the bathroom had green porcelain tub/sink/toilet with pinktile with green accents. It actually looked quite awesome. He did end up yanking the gas space heater out that was built into the wall...just too much of a risk, especially if there are children around...
