I believe the one they are talking about in Dripping is Cowgirls and Lace. It is in a shopping center on the south side of 290, west of the junction of the road to Wemberly.

Yes, it's Cowgirls and Lace. Lots of very pretty things.

jhwest, did you go to Fanny's? I'd love to know how it was. There's also a Joann's off Slaughter near the 35 and one off Mopac at the Arbor Walk (not positive that's the name).

I hate that fabric stores close so early! I'm just getting warmed up by 6:00. I did make it to the cleverly named Interior Fabrics. It's on Burnet just south of Anderson. It's huge and has the most mind-boggling assortment of trims. The prices are excellent. Unfortunately they didn't really have anything in the colors I need, so I'll be hitting Fanny's sometime this week. Might have to make the trek out to Dripping too.

I was in Fanny's Fabrics just the other day (Thursday?). They have a small but carefully chosen selection of fabrics. Even though there isn't a lot compared to HUGE fabric stores, everything was great quality, and I was in there for 2 hours easily.

They do end of season and overruns, so their prices are seriously discounted. Staff was very helpful too.

I am not a crafts person so hopefully this doesn't offend anyone who truly knows their sewing...but there is a JoAnn fabrics at the Shops at Arbor Walk at Mopac where 360 terminates (there is a Home Depot, Chuck E. Cheese, PotBelly, etc. there). I think it's just opened recently. Hope this helps!

Gigi--it's not insulting to suggest JoAnne's! Can't live without the basic sewing stores. Most home dec places don't have things you might need like, oh I don't know, thread! Pins! Patterns! They have some good fabric there but it's usually just in the most popular color schemes and designs. Hancock has some nice fabrics most of the time, and pretty decent prices too.
I came across a fabric store in cedar Park called Plush. It has a small in-stock selection, but a mind-boggling amount of special order books. They have an upholstery store attached too, so you can actually get furniture done by them. Not sure about prices, though.

OK, I used the phrase "mind-boggling" two posts in a row. I need a thesaurus!

On Congress: CraftORama_rev0807

It's supposed to be a little small though.

Calico Corners is my absolute favorite home decor fabric store. We had one in the DFW area when I lived there and I was thrilled to find one here in Orlando when we moved here as well.
