I asked my neighbor nicely to please put her barking dogs in the back yard. She agreed. For about a day. They bark all night long right next to my bed room window. So I don't want to f ile the suit but I've already asked her nicely. Is there another way to resolve this? Do those Bark Silencers actually work? I literally want to do evil things when they won't stop barking. And its not the dogs fault that the owner is so inconsiderate to all the neighbors

You already exercised you first option so besides the Bark Silencers your only recourse may be the city under the following ordinance:

Source: 1992 Code Section 3-3-6; Ord. 031009-9; Ord. 031211-11. § 3-2-2 NOISY ANIMALS. An owner or handler may not keep an animal that makes frequent or long, continued noise that is disturbing to a person of normal sensibilities.

Barking Dogs - nwaca.org

That NA site outlines a not-so-easy way of going about this, but I think a simple call to 311 may suffice. The bad thing is since you already talked to them, reporting the dogs now will ID you as the culprit.

You mean file a complaint, I believe. Call the local authorities and get your neighbors to back you up.

Id give the neighbor another chance, record the barking and let her know you will report her to the city but would rather settle it as neighbors first.

If someone has six dogs I think it can be safely said they don't given a darn about pretty much anyone around them.

I had that happening a few years ago. We banged on their door at 3:30am one morning. No one answered, and we banged hard for a couple of minutes. Left a note on their car. Their response was they couldn't hear the banging because they sleep with sound machines because the dog barks so loud. Really? We told them to put the dog inside at night, to which he did, and a few weeks later, the dog was gone. They couldn't stand the barking in the house that they got rid of it. Go bang on their door in the middle of the night to see how they like being woken up.

This is what I would do.

Also, you could try getting a white noise machine to try to block out some of that noise.

I know this is a petty way of handling the problem, but I had a neighbor who worked at night so left their dogs out in the backyard when they were at work. Those dogs barked ALL night long. The neighbor to the other side recorded the dogs barking during the night, and then played it on a very loud speaker system right next to the fence during the day when the owner of the dog was trying to sleep.

After a few police calls, the dog was finally re-homed.
