Hi all

I have an event I would like to attend downtown (around 4th/congress) that goes from 6pm. I'm sure I can get there for 6:30pm and still be fine and i plan to only stay for about an hour. What is my best option of getting there?

I hear about rush hour traffic going north, how is traffic at that time going downtown? I will be coming from Avery Ranch. Or is taking the train a better option? If I take the train, how far is the train station downtown and will it be a problem walking back there at around 8pm? If I drive, what is the best time to leave Avery Ranch. BTW, I do this drive several times a week but it's never during rush hour and it takes me about 25 mins/30 mins

Thanks

The train is only a few short blocks from there.

Double-check that there will be a return available though...

I would give it about 45 minutes. There wont be much traffic until you hit around farwest or 2222. I just looked and google maps is showing green down to 2222.

Park by crestview, train going down (to miss traffic), and Metrorapid back up maybe?

27 minutes right now. 183 to 35 S to 1st. Even if you could take MetroRail (last SB is at 10:22 AM), it would take twenty minutes longer. Nothing else would even come close.

Uh, last SB Train from Lakeline (closest place to Avery), would be 5:34 PM, not 10:22 AM.

I'd do a park and ride. Just determine if you can get a direct bus ride back. Or you can just leave the house at 4: get there by 5:30 or 6 and chill out downtown somewhere until your event. If you aren't having dinner I'd hit happy hour at like Lambert's or the Driskoll Hotel.

Uhh still would be almost twice as long - not even counting time spent parking, waiting, ... Why subject yourself to that?
