Just spent a week checking out most of the furniture stores in Austin, Cedar Park, Round Rock, Georgetown, Taylor and everywhere else in the area. It seems that, when I purchase, I will buy a piece here and a piece there as no store has everything, or even most of what, I am looking for. And I can't seem to find an Ethan Allen anywhere outside of Houston. Anyone know of one in the more local area?

There used to be an Ethan Allen store on Anderson, just south of Burnet Rd. Haven't noticed lately if it's still there or not -anyone else?

Ethan Allen closed but is reopening in the Arbor Walk off of Mopac next to Chuck E' Cheese. I saw their sign in the window but didn't see an opening date.

Closest Ethan Allen is in San Antonio - went there 2 weeks ago and it was an easy drive (we took the leisurely back roads but they're right on I-10). They had a great selection and they told me they had closed their stores in Austin but had so many customers coming down from Austin that there might be plans afoot to reopen. They were willing to come up to my house (Lakeway area) for design/upholstery coordination if we bought the furniture we were looking at (no extra charge).

Hope they reopen up here though...

Has anyone been to Furniture Market off 35? I drive by it all the time and have always wanted to stop in. I can't help but miss the amazingly large armoire that seems to be in the center of the store.

I am looking for a mexican rustic style family table for the kitchen area.... with a bench for seating. Kind of like a farm table - but I don't want to spend a ton... would this place have it and how are the prices?

I mentioned that in one of my previous posts but I called it Furniture Mart - oops. Hard to describe it. They have an eclectic collection of rustic Mexican style furniture and some name brand stuff. It's worth a stop. I've purchased 2 items from them and have been happy with them.

I've purchased a complete bedroom set and dining room set from Furniture Market. It's a great place to get good quality furniture at a discounted price. They might negotiate on price a bit if you ask. Trish (I think that's her name) is really good to work with there. My only warning is that it isn't the best place if you need what you want in a hurry. It might take 4 to 6 weeks to get a specific item if they don't have it in stock. If they have it in their warehouse, then it's not a big deal. If you're not in a hurry and they have to order it, it's worth the wait.
