Since this post is rather old, I'd be curious to know if the Op found a church home.

They sound alot like my wife and me, minus the kids. We've been church shopping for 1 1/2 years and still haven't settled on one we agree on...

We've found that up here in Georgetown, the younger churches tend to be a bit conservative for us and the more liberal, mainline churches are "Sun City congregations" of almost exclusively 65+ folks. We're not real keen on having to drive a half hour to get to church either.... Sigh...

Sorry to hear that. Too bad you were not in the North Austin area or I could recommend a great church.

Haha, imagine my surprise to see this surface again... and my embarrassment that no, we have not yet gotten around to "shopping" over a year later. Yikes.

My youngest is down to one afternoon nap though, so mornings are much easier to get out these days. I'm thinking about trying one of the churches nearby on Sam Bass in RR - Round Rock Presby or Round Rock Community Christian. Anyone go to either of these?

We spent half a year trying them on so to speak and we have ended up at Bethany Umc over off of Anderson Mill. Lots of stuff going on any time of the week plenty of stuff for the kids and so far everyone we have come into contact with seems pretty real.
