I have "kin" in Chicago as well -- was in Lincoln Park with them in the last month. But at no time, would I ever consider trying to tell someone else what their city should become.

Fundamental difference between Texans and "others". "Others" say this place is screwed up, you should do it like we do it in "other-place". Texan moves some place, and says this place is screwed up. I can't wait to get back to Texas. Stop trying to "fix" us, okay?

I'm not the one trying to "fix" you - your own city government is the one planning for density and walk ability.
