It would be great to find a nice state park for a weekend camping trip that is no more than 2 hours from Austin ideally. Also, since this will most likely be in June there has to be a swimming area and also looking for some good hiking trails. We haven't camped since moving to Texas, so we could use some advice. Thanks!

Inks Lake state park. It is about a hour drive from Austin. You can rent a cabin at the state park.

Unfortunately 3 hours away, but nice is Garner State Park:

Camping in Texas during June is a challenge, though. It's uncomfortably hot to me, but people obviously do it. You really have to go much farther north and west to get someplace comfortable.

Also, if you haven't been tubing yet, that's great way to beat the heat. Maybe look at some of the campgrounds around the Comal or Guadalupe in San Marcos. Like this:

Did they move the Comal & Guadalupe again?

But yes, a float near/thru NB is a good idea. Lots of campgrounds nearby too.

Lake is low but still lots of water in it. Lots of camping spots you can drive up to, but if you are willing to hike a bit there are some really nice primitive camping spots under the live oak trees on the point where you have a nice breeze from almost every direction. Some nice hikes along the cliffs above the lake West of that spot.

No swimming, but fantastic hiking trails and small caves to explore at the top of the granite dome. Hot water showers in the restrooms. Enchanted Rock State Natural Area
