Renaming of part of Auditorium Shores.

Well, I was unaware of the brouhaha about the specific namee and I STILL think that public input about renaming streets or places like Town Lake or Auditorium Shores is a good thing and SHOULD have been done all along. (And I think that Lady Bird's expressed wishes during her lifetime NOT to have Town Lake named after her should have been respected, too.)

Has nothing to do with individuals.

Now, putting up statues, a la Stevie and, recently in Georgetown, Three-Legged Willie, of major contributors to what went to make a community what it is? I think that's a great idea that enhances the community and doesn't mess with history and also gives a better recognition of the PERSON, not the name.
