I know if you go to Franklin's on the weekend you can expect to wait in a very long line and have to get there by nine in the morning. But what if you go midweek? Is the line still crazy?

YES, expect a line any day of the week. Weekday lines are no shorter than the weekends.

Okay, thanks for letting me know! We have a friend from out of town that wants to go and I'll get there early and have her meet me there.

I honestly wouldn't bother. Go down a couple of blocks to La BBQ. The quality is indistinguishable to me and you can get food no bs.

My husband and a friend from out of town went on a weekday. They went on a Tuesday, arrived at 9:15am-ish and waited 2 hours 55 min. He and his friend from NYC said it was well worth the wait.

I don't think any food is that good enough to have to wait for 3 hours! Seems like some people need to get a life!

Thanks for suggesting we, and everybody else that waits in line, get a life llktk. You are a most gracious forum participant with your snap judgments about people you've never met. Just because other people don't choose to live life the way you do, doesn't mean they aren't living a fulfilling one.

Been there once before a couple of years ago. We waited a couple of hours, brought our lawn chairs and coffee and enjoyed the company of our friends and other folks in line. I am willing to do it again, I just need to know what time to get there.

I've thought about going to La Barbeque but this friend wants to try Franklins and it will be fun to catch up with her.

Isn't the reason for a forum for people to have opinions. I just don't understand wasting 3 hours of your life for a meal.

This is what my husband also commented on... it was so refreshing and nice to actually have the time to talk and catch up with his friend during this stretch at Franklin with no, rush, rush, rushing, jetting to and from other area attractions, playing tour guide. How rare to be forced to slow down, be still and actually enjoy, some good conversation, even with strangers in line.
