78729 will get you the price range but "good schools" is arguable and the lot size requirement won't be met.
Portions of 78729 feed into Deerpark Middle School and McNeil HS- those are good schools. Also, there are houses in Forest North that have 1/4 acre. Granted, all of the listings are going quickly, but worth a look nonetheless.

Yeah, San Antonio is not Austin. That's a completely different and much more affordable city. That said, I think you can find what you're looking for, but it won't be central.

This house is 350K and feeds into Laurel Mountain, Canyon Vista and Westwood 10426 Scotland Well Drive, Austin, TX 78750 :: 4485791 :: Austin Real Estate :: Homesnap

And that is only one of them, so yes, you can find 350k and under and good schools in 78750

Here is a home in 78729 with a .29 acre lot which fills the lot size requirement

http://www.homesnap.com/TX/Austin/13...ringvale-Drive

OP will be able to find what he's looking for any either of these zipcodes

This is an outlier and is not representative price-wise of the rest of the market in the area with this school track. This home is the ONLY house at 350K and 1800 sq ft or higher that is available in the Canyon Vista zone and in 78750. And I know that agent, he's very prolific -- there's something wrong with that house that it hasn't been snapped up at that price.

Sure, there are 78750 homes north of AM that are less than 350K but they do not offer good schools.

It's fine to say that there are a few homes at that price point, with the lot size req., but it's misleading to newcomers to not point out that these are major exceptions.

Heres another one 9102 Clearock Drive, Austin, TX 78750 :: 5585463 :: Austin Real Estate :: Homesnap.

All OP needs is a good realtor and he should be able to find a home in 78750 for 350k and under. No need to act like its an impossibility.

It's been listed since February and they dropped the price $50K ??? Something is seriously fishy with this freshly renovated home with a new pool

Something like 8 listings have been posted in Austin proper that fit.

How's San Antonio doing for you?

I'd take San Antonio over Round Rock any day, not that it's a competition.
