There is no way I could live in Pflugerville. It's very... bland.

Dot on a map but growing into a period on a map...

Far enough out of town that you'll have cows and horses for neighbours but close enough to see the city glow. It won't be that way for much longer, the toll way is going to be a couple of miles west of downtown on 79, running north south, and 79 is already under major expansion. In a year, it will be just another suburb of Austin proper.

Yeah, Hutto is a cute place but it's changing quickly. I wish the suburban development would STOP but that's all people want when they move here. I've never understood it.... if people want to live in a McNeighborhood, they can do that anywhere in the U.S. Why ruin yet another city with tract housing?

I am also fixing to move to the Austin area, and like most people here I want to live outside of Austin. My husband is in the military and gone quite often so would like to have a nice area to live in. Seems like to me that Round Rock or maybe even Georgetown have had the best comments so those will be the places I look. I want the commute for my husband to be as painless as possible but the way it's sounding no trave towards Austin is painless! Could anyone tell me the best place to look for rent houses in the RR, GT, CP, PV and Leander area's? I see all kind of sights where you can buy homes and inf listings but have a very hard time finding rental homes. Any help would be appreciated.

GOOD LUCK on your move, I hope you find exactly what you are looking for.

The Hill Country News has a classified section that has a section for home rentals, mainly located in Cedar Park/Leander.

Only move to Pflugerville and Hutto if you like driving a lot for everything. I'm sure some Pfers and Huts will come to defend it but if your activities extend beyond going to McDonalds, HEB, and Blockbuster you better like filling up your gas tank an awful lot.

I was drawn out in that area early on in my home search because the home prices were so low. It seems like it's just going to be a bunch of sub-divisions built on flat farmlands. We never even stopped the car to look at any models, did not like the area at all. The only way I would consider moving there is if I was a first time home buyer and really wanted a house. My sentiments are identical for Kyle.
