The Oasis on Lake Travis | Sunset Capital of Texas The food here had improved a lot when I ate there a month or so ago, and the view is great.

Gruene, TX is rather distant for you but well worth a visit. It has antique and curio shops, several great restaruants including the historic Grist Mill and the Gruene Dance Hall is right next door. //www.city-data.com/forum/20303339-post2.html

Try the Walburg Restaurant and Biergarten or Dale's Essenhaus in Walburg. From Elgin, take 95 north to FM 972, turn left, and keep going until you get to Walburg. Don't blink, you'll miss it! Dale's on the left right after you come into town, Walburg Restaurant on the right.

If they're here the first Friday of the month, they might enjoy First Friday on the Square in Georgetown. Or Music on the Square every Friday throughout the summer. Take in a performance at The Palace Theater.

There's always Dell Diamond.

Salado is fun. (Can you tell I'm trying to find places you can get to while avoiding Austin traffic?

But, if you really want to show your relatives fun in Austin proper, This site is a good place to find free things to do in Austin.
