Maybe these are already posted somewhere (or in some other format), but I found them interesting. Especially now that construction of the Wm Cannon/290 portion is well under way.
That isn't showing nearly enough cars. I drive that route a lot and loop one ends and a LOT of cars are headed west on 290. I don't see this being the fix they are looking for.
Thanks Trainwreck! I had seen these videos before referenced in the Impact newspaper, I probably posted them to this forum back then, but I did not have time to watch them closely until now. Now that I have I agree that it will improve the traffic flow somewhat. Although stopping twice to turn left will be annoying.
Nice to see any improvement. This is the first money the City has spent on improving those intersections in ages. Lived nearby since 1981.
The 290/71 intersection honestly doesn't look any better than it is currently. The main problem with that intersection is the amount of cars turning left from 71E to 290E. The only long-term solution I see is expanding the freeway from Joe Tanner Ln, past the 71/290 intersection.
Well, I would say that the die is cast. We will have to see how the current improvements work out, because I think it will be along time before a freeway extension is actually built. I can't predict, but I hope the improvements at both intersections are helpful, as there is obviously a lot of money being spent. There are, by the way, several smaller intersections in the area that are being improved as well, and that is part of the larger project.
I like this design, I wish they could incorporate at other intersections (620/FM 2222 or 620/Anderson Mill).
