I swear that I used to feel the "hippie vibe" at UT Austin even though I was surrounded everywhere by the harshness of Reagan era intolerance. What was the name of that station? Is it still in existence?

98.9 Oldies?

Austin's losing its oldies radio station | www.austin360.com

I miss having an oldies station. I'd like one that played 40's, 50's, 60's and 70's. The 80's in my opinion went down the tubes...yes, there were exceptions.

I remember an oldies station from the late 80's early 90's called Froggy, but I don't remember the call letters or frequency. I didn't move to Austin until '86 so if there was one before then I don't remember it. I still miss the Z102 Classic Rock station but I wouldn't call it 60's music.

My first thought was KRMH (Karma), but they signed off in the 70's. Scroll down this list to Austin, maybe one of these:

Sorry, you're looking for a station way back when. The one I heard after we moved here went off the radio. That is the one I linked to. Whoops.

I found a picture of me wearing a Disco 98 t-shirt a few years ago
K98 Had Dave Jarrot
Magic 95 FM -- my mom listened to this instead of KLBJ while my friends were in carpool
102.5 had a decent classic rock station

Yes, it does. KRMH played classic rock before it was classic though, and was kind of a big deal back then. So, I'm wondering if it was something related that came afterwards. Here's the progression and sister stations:

What I've mentioned wasn't disco. It was that early era of 70's music.
