That's a good looking map; there are some 'serious' rainfall totals there! The Colorado River watershed starts 'way back, up near La Mesa, West of the map's coverage, so we can hope that they're getting more rain up that way, too!
It's the "trickle-down-theory" at work!

Well, if you want the FULL map .

Hydromet

But the bulk of it did fall on Austin and the immediate surroundings.

We got about five inches here in central Austin. It didn't seem like that much from the sound of it --- but that thunder and lightening! I don't recall ever seeing it quite that bad here. So sad about the missing deputy.

... THANK You! ... I love looking at this stuff!

QUESTION: About all that lightning ... Are y'all who haven't seen it like that before Texas-born and/or raised? I know that people I talk with about "storms in Texas", who are from out in the SF-Bay area, tend to not believe what I'm telling them.
The other reason I ask is because I can recall some pretty bright lightning shows from storms, 30-plus years ago, and we thought they were impressive, then!
Just trying to "gauge" if they're more-intense these days ... It would be better if I was there, but some things are just not meant to be - right now. [Wha-aa-aaa...]

I don't think they're any more intense now than "back in the day" The only thing I can see being slightly different this year is that we've had a couple of large ones rip straight through central Austin - instead of skirting the town like the big ones usually do.

Although, there was one bolt/thunder that set off my smoke alarms in this last one! That's never happened before.

YOW! When it sets off car alarms, that's the time to move to that most interior space they talk about

It's crazy that we have a surplus for Sept and for the year.

And it's raining hard right now!

So nice to see the current rain clouds lining up over our watershed.
