What do you all advise? I have tried managing this project myself but while it involves a couple of trades, it isn't a big project for anyone and I can't get my calls returned (oh, so different from 2009-11 when I had people falling over themselves to do small jobs).

The project involves removing a large, built in entertainment center. There is no flooring underneath it, just the subfloor, so I need prefinished hardwood installed to match the rest of the room (original manufacturer has gone bankrupt), then the wall behind should be finished drywall, textured but not painted, (could paint myself) and the new flooring will need a floorboard and trim. Might need to move an outlet and or a switch.

There is a fireplace adjoining this area that could also get a make-over, stacked stone replacing tile, adding a mantel, etc.

Would a designer be the best bet or a general contractor? I need someone with connections who can get people in here for these small jobs.
