Because your probably comparing a neighborhood with 3,500 SF houses to one with 900 SF houses. Price per SF is the best measure. Although, I'm sure you'll just say something snarky instead.

Try pricing it by the square foot and get back to me slick.

Mmmhmm, okay.

Nice non-sequitur. The point was housing values, and therefore taxable values, were going up all over the city. To which your fellow traveler replied:

Not really, prices are highest in the core.
Note: prices. Price per square foot has zero to do with taxable value. Defend that erroneous statement if you wish. It is demonstrably false.

If you meant price per square foot, you should have said that. You didn't, because it made no sense in the context of taxable values.

Slick.

Slick.
Like for like slick.

Mansion in burbs vs. shotgun shack in core isn't like for like.

So again, try doing that and back to me.

3,500 SF in Steiner Ranch: $535,000

3,500 SF in Tarrytown: $1,690,000

Edit: And for that $535,000, which gets you 3,500 SF in Steiner, you can have a 700 SF cottage in Enfield.

Some of us choose to live in a place because we love it. Others, choose stay in a place they hate and complain about it daily on the Internet. If that makes me a "traveler" so be it.

Cool story, bro.

And who said anything about Tarrytown or Enfield?

TCAD appraised values?

If you're talking listed for sale prices, meaningless to this discussion (taxable value).
