You need to set your own experience aside as it does not apply to this market; your description from where you came only confirms both this and that the Austin market resembles nothing like you encountered in the past. You admitted this yourself by noting that:

OP, you are somehow confusing 'accurate' from what you don't want to hear/accept and subsequently labeling 'rude'. Steve ^ wasn't talking about FSBO where you came from but HERE - on the Austin forum - where we all have a bit more experience with than you. Not "rude", simply fact.

He provided an accurate and intuitive description of EVERY full FSBO home and owner we've encountered here. We are plugged into the market in our neck of the woods and have seen the majority of homes up for sale in the last 1.5 years... his description nails this out-of-touch subset.

Not all FSBO sellers are out-of-touch or difficult or overprice their homes. And not all Realtors are knowledgeable, helpful professionals.

We currently have a fabulous Realtor who is worth her weight in gold. However, we have run across several who were lazy or just plain dishonest. Enough that I can completely understand why people don't want to use one.
