I'm moving to Austin in April and will be attending ACC in the fall.
I have been searching for days online for a 1 bed apartment relatively near the college or in UT area in a safe, clean complex that isn't too quiet/boring or filled with seniors/kids.
I wont know anyone there so I would like to live somewhere I might be able to make friends etc
So far I'm having no luck and the review sites seem very biased.

please help me!

Northridge Campus.

I'm not too worried about finding one close to ACC if they're all bad, I will be getting a car.
I'm more focused on getting a nice and safe apartment in a good area.

Hyde Park It's totally affordable (not super-cheap, but that usually means super-dirty) and definitely a younger neighborhood.

Far West blvd area might be what you are looking for. Closer to the Northridge campus, but still kind of a UT area (UT shuttle goes there, lots of apartments with students.) A bit cheaper than Hyde Park (which is much closer to the UT campus) but probably safer. There are no bad neighborhoods nearby Far West. Hyde Park on the other hand, to the north and northeast things get a little bad (St Johns area.) But Hyde Park will definitely be a more eclectic, more Austin-weird area.
