We are being relocated to Austin and are looking into buying in Circle C. Pros? Cons? We should be there within the month.

We have a 2.5 year old and a 4 year old that we will need full time daycare/preschool. What are your recommendations for schools?

I appreciate any and all input.

Here's a search to get you started - it'll get you some good background.

I'd recommend reading through that and then coming back with some more specific questions

Link above did not work for me. Here are some older threads on daycare:

//www.city-data.com/forum/austi...sw-austin.html

Where are you going to work?

Anyway, these are the ones that I would consider if I were looking right now

Primrose (Davis and MoPac)
Bright Horizons (Davis and Escarpment)
Children's Courtyard (Wm Cannon and Escarpment)
Circle C Development Center (in CC proper)
Explorer (or something like that, it bought out Children's Courtyard in CC).

I would NOT personally recommend Country Home.

I have had (or currently have kids) at BH, Primrose, and Country Home for daycare or after school care.

Elementary school will likely be Clayton or Kiker, but I would not worry about which one.

I would also recommend looking a bit north of CC, as well (Villages at Western Oaks, Legend Oaks, etc).

What size/age/price house are you looking for?

Check availability for your children at the Circle C CDC - let your fingers do the walking. However, as others have pointed out, your commute to/from work can dominate your life if it's a long one, especially with a deadline to get back to the 'hood to pick up the kids.

The location of your job and your house budget and needs are important in deciding whether a neighborhood's good for you.

Circle C is amazing! Easy access to downtown and the kiddos will feed into good schools. Circle C has an extremely nice HEB, multiple restaurants, and of course Alamo Drafthouse! Circle C is also very close to William Cannon which will give you access to Whole Foods, Lifetime Fitness, Costco....and the list goes on...

Where is the job located? This is a very important decision factor in Austin for choosing where to live.

Circle C is a wonderful neighborhood. I am much less enthused about Kiker and Mills but Clayton is good.
